About me

I am a fuegian visual and conceptual artist. I was born in Ushuaia, Argentina, in 1986 where I currently live and work. I have my studio at La Factory 9410, where I produce most of my work, which at present consists of monochromatic medium-reliefs where texture, light and naturalistic themes are the protagonists and, accompanying this movement, drawings that vary in its form but always under the magic of ink, inspired by the beauty, history and cyclical essence of my land.

First teacher: Eduardo Nicolai with whom I had my first approach to drawing and ink. From him I took the experimentation of different materialities on paper.

Change of scenery: Buenos Aires and the discovery of the wide spectrum of artistic disciplines. I started with fashion photography and portraits, growing up in a self-taught way and workshops with Facundo Bengoechea, digital retouching workshop with Natalia Taffarel, assistance to Urko Suaya. Simultaneously I experienced performing arts with Lito Cruz and later Andrés Saatchi that would motivate me to delve into visual arts, focusing on concept, the experience over contemplation.

In the search to acquire more tools for creation, I studied illustration with Mirella Musri and painting with Ignacio Noé, an artist who fascinated me when I was little.

2015: I carry out a clinic with the artist Sofía Huidobro with whom I study new artistic ways of expression. I incorporate installations, new materials, video art, in the search for deconstructing beauty as a social standard and truth in creation. It is at this stage that “Bitácora” is born, an installation selected for the Itaú Cultural Arts Award, which would mark a turning point in my artistic approach, taking on a role where materiality and conceptuality are of equal importance.

2016: I meet Rubén Betbeder, director of the “Museo de la Cárcova”, who would help me on the path of seeking an imprint, an artistic identity. This is how he introduces me to the artist Juan Doffo, with whom I would complete the artworks under construction.

2017: I am again selected for the Itaú Cultural Arts Award and I return to Ushuaia after 13 years.

My work is strongly influenced by the change of scene. Color appears for the first time in my inks works and the themes are enriched by my island's history, the original inhabitants, the shipwrecks, the landscape, its flora and fauna.

I held several exhibitions at the “Museo del Presidio del Fin del Mundo”, “Museo Fueguino de Arte”, “Museo Fueguino de Arte”, “Casa de la Cultura de TDF”, “Colegio de Arquitectos de TDF”, “Centro Cultural Nueva Argentina”  and, in 2018 I present  “El Cuarto”, an installation selected in the Biennial of Young Art UNL XVIII edition.

My work is characterized by the predominance of a monochromatic materiality directed by improvisation, play and accident. Having started from illustration, inks and portraits, my work has gone through different stages where the installations have unfolded their roots, giving as a result the current media-reliefs that seek to integrate a portion of nature in a subtle way, camouflaged between the walls, and becoming part of the place that houses it.
